Q: Why FreeBohemia?
A: Why not FreeBohemia?
The name actually means nothing. I was inspired
by the bumper stickers you occasionally see
demanding that we somehow "Free Tibet!" These
are typicaly seen on a beat-up VW bus or rusty
pick up with unwashed heathenry at the wheel.
One wonders how these people propose to free
anybody given their inability to even find soap. It
seems to me that there are a lot of people who
should be freed and the Tibetans (While they're
certainly nice people) shouldn't necessarily be at
the top of the list...
Q: Ok, really now, What does it mean?
A: It really might mean nothing.
Or, it could be interpreted as encouragement to
return to the true roots of Bohemianism, a revival
of the spirit of the non-conformist, free-thinker. It
might be a statement against the tyranny of leftist
intolerance. Maybe it’s a secret conspiracy to
liberate the chattels of Bohemia from those in the
liberal mainstream who’ve commandeered it.
Maybe it’s meant to encourage the people of the
nation to get out of their collectivist “victim group”
mentality and become individuals - i.e. people who
think and vote. Perhaps it’s a call to reclaim the
fragile ideals of representative democracy and
reject the socialist shackles of political
correctness. After all, in a world where politically
correct thought is mainstream, only those who
think for themselves can rightly claim to be
Bohemian.

Or, it might mean nothing
